PASTEL - A drawing material made of pigment, held together by a binding medium such as resin or gum Arabic, and formed into an oil or chalk pastel crayon. Typically applied to paper, pastels can produce diverse effects, from hard and defined lines, to soft cloudy areas of color and textures.
