Dan Hunt
Principal
His own career reflecting the evolution of modern-day telecommunications and the increasing sophistication and acceptance of the Internet, Dan Hunt plays an integral role as principle of America Creates. He began working as a lineman for his family's telephone company, HunTel Systems, before moving on to the company's data processing division, Mid America Computer Corporation. Here he worked as a programmer and systems analyst in the mainframe, mini and desktop environments and helped to usher in the company's adoption of open network and server technology. By the mid-1990s, he brought HunTel into the Internet age, launching a new ISP division to the company's more than 12,000 subscribers throughout Nebraska. Now, he applies his technical insight to the efforts of America Creates. In the process, he is able to apply his technical insights to create a one-of-a-kind online creative community.
